CASE STORY

GARASSIZLIK ROADS – TURKMENISTAN

” We have tried different optics companies but none were able to provide us with a solution except LEDiL. After implementing LEDiL’s simulation we were delighted with the result. I would like to thank them for the great support.”

Cuneyt Fidan – R&D Director – AFC Lighting

PROJECT

AFC LIGHTING – OPTOLED was tasked with designing a completely new lighting solution for a 4.5km stretch of road in Turkmenistan. With three lanes on either side, and 14-meter high street lighting poles at 40-meter intervals, the challenge was to achieve both a homogenous illuminance and good efficiency along the whole stretch of road. The Ministry for Roads and Energy was also involved in the project.

SOLUTION

Together with LEDiL’s technical support a simulation was made according to the given specifications. LEDiL’s STRADA-SQ-T-DWC optics were recommended and duly installed meeting the required illuminance and efficiency perfectly.

BENEFITS

Thanks to careful and thorough planning beforehand – and the skills of the people involved in construction – the project was finished ahead of schedule. Optimized calculations, installation and luminaire design combined to deliver the most efficient lighting solution available today, ensuring road users benefit from a perfectly illuminated road and improved safety
