We process customer and business contact data and use direct marketing as part of this legitimate interest. It is necessary for us to use a variety of direct marketing channels and messages to ensure our contacts are kept informed, and wherever possible we make sure the messages we send are targeted and relevant.

We will keep your data safely and securely for as long as necessary, or according to your instructions, and we review the data we hold at least once every two years. If you would like more information about how we store your data, please contact us directly.

Use of cookies

LEDiL uses cookies and other third party tracking technologies on our websites and across other websites that help us collect and save information about our customers and users. You can choose to permit or restrict the use of non-essential cookies and similar technologies through our website or your personal browser settings. Cookies and similar technologies may collect identifiers and usage information to offer you a better experience, analyse site traffic, and serve targeted marketing, where permitted by law and your cookie preferences. We also use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies to enable login sessions, maintain secure access to logged-in areas and services, record relevant download activity, and protect restricted resources from misuse.

Cookie preferences apply to cookies and similar browser-based technologies. They do not prevent LEDiL from processing information that is necessary for logged-in services and restricted-resource control, such as signing in, maintaining your account, securing restricted resources, recording relevant download activity, or protecting restricted resources from misuse.

Data security

To protect data stored on our servers LEDiL regularly audits our system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. While LEDiL implements the security measures detailed above, transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and therefore transmission via the internet is at your own risk.

LEDiL may store and process personal information in Finland or any other country including outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) in which LEDiL or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities.

Data retention for user accounts

We retain personal data related to user accounts only for as long as the account remains active or as otherwise necessary to provide our services.

An account is considered active as long as the user continues to use the logged-in services, for example by logging in, or has not requested deletion of the account. As a general rule, user accounts that have been inactive for approximately 24 months may be deleted or anonymised in accordance with our internal data retention practices.

Certain data may be retained for a longer period where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or ensure the security and integrity of our services.

This retention period applies specifically to user account-related personal data. Analytics, marketing, download activity and CRM-related data, such as website usage data collected via cookies and information stored in analytics, customer relationship management or other business systems, may be retained for longer periods in accordance with their respective purposes, legal bases, and applicable retention policies.
